Our first annual Vernissage was held on April 25, 2013 and was a great success!
We estimate that about 95% of you were able to come with your children to see all of the wonderful creations. Please see below for comments from some of the attendees. |
Comments about the event...
From the Board President and mother of two:
"...the work you put into the Vernissage was amazing, and it reflected on the school
so well. I am very proud of all of you for your hard work and dedication, and
last night could not be called anything less than a triumphant success. The
quality of the children's work was phenomenal and it represented every age group
equally. The turnout was HUGE - I was expecting it to be busy but I met more
families than I can remember! Tate and I left very proud of our school, and
happy to be a member of the Good Morning family for many years to come."
From the father of a 6 year-old girl:
"I enjoyed the vernissage a great deal; thanks for hosting this event. I loved seeing
the huge variety of art and the presentation of so many wonderful young artists. Kids'
art always impresses me and I can see many of them continuing in artistic pursuits."
From a former Director:
"I just wanted to tell all of you at GMCAPS what a fabulous job you did last
night (and throughout the year) helping all of the kids create such gorgeous
works. The displays were SO impressive and the art brought back wonderful
memories!"
From the mother of a boy in Creative Arts After School Program:
"The end-of-year vernissage was a fantastic wrap-up up to the school year. It was
exciting to make our way through the hallways and activity rooms to discover pockets
of artwork -- watercolour, sculpture, still-lifes, and installations -- at every turn. The
thematic groupings revealed great attention to form and content. These young artists are
clearly using their hearts and minds to ultimate effect: issuing beautiful, intelligent and
inspired creations -- and having fun in the process!"
From the mom of a 6 year-old boy:
"Wanted to comment on how much we enjoyed the show. (Our son) was so proud of
his work and you showed it off beautifully. Loved having all three floors to browse
through. There were many people but spreading us out was a great idea. Such a positive
light this week. Grateful for all you do for my boy. He feels so good when he's with you!"
From the mother of two girls aged 2 and 6:
"Thank you all so much for a wonderful event! Our family thoroughly enjoyed
looking at the wonderful creations that were on display. The girls especially
enjoyed finding their own art work and the art of their friends. It was
fantastic to see so many people out and the response from everyone we spoke with
was positive and enthusiastic. We really appreciate all the work that went into
the vernissage and are so glad that our girls' art could be a part of it."
